About the Header Photo – Nickel Plate Road 765

I thought I would start the first post on the site explaining the first logo I choose.  This is the Nickel Plate Road 765 2-8-4 Berkshire Steam Locomotive from the Lima Locomotive Works in Lima, OH.  Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society owns the 765. We caught the train on a cool steam excursion train trip from Buffalo, NY to Corning, NY and back on August 1, 2015.  This railfanning image is the train southbound over the Letchworth State Park gorge.  The bridge is the Portage Viaduct Bridge, which was replaced in early 2018.

I will post a great deal more photos from this railfanning trip in the future.  We chased the train for 8 hours and I have a lot of pictures and even a couple of movies.  But I wanted to get this one up there now so that people that saw the page header would know what the picture was.
